"I'M SO HURT..."
THIS DAY IN ELVIS HISTORY... SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH, 1957 - MEMPHIS, TN.
Unhappy with their status and income, Scotty Moore and Bill Black handed Elvis a letter of resignation.
Days passed and Elvis had not responded. Word got out and before he could respond, Elvis read about it in the Memphis press on the 13th.
Elvis posted a response the very next day...
An open message from Elvis Presley to Bill Black and Scotty Moore: "Scotty, I hope you fellows have good luck. I will give you fellows good recommendations. If you had come to me, we would have worked things out. I would have always taken care of you. But you went to the papers and tried to make me look bad instead of coming to me so we could work things out. All I can say to you is good luck."
